Cathy Lepik brings 17 years of copywriting experience to the Marketing Department. Previously, Cathy served as Vice President/Associate Creative Director at Austin Kelley Advertising, where among other accomplishments, she instituted bring-your-dog-to work Fridays. Before joining Austin Kelley, she was a copywriter at BBDO Atlanta. Her list of client experience is long and varied. Industries include automotive, healthcare, hospitality, entertainment, dining, retail, pharmaceutical, apparel, financial, real estate, transportation and technology.
She holds a degree in journalism from Auburn University where, as a student, she was a staff sports reporter for the Auburn Plainsman. That experience helped her land her first ‘real’ job as a sports reporter for the Mobile Press Register. Quickly tiring of high school football sidelines, she left the world of journalism to attend the Portfolio Center in Atlanta.
Cathy has taught at the Portfolio Center, served on the marketing department advisory board for DeKalb Technical College, has headed up various PTA committees for Morningside Elementary School and is actively at her church where she has directed Vacation Bible School, served as children’s council president and is currently a youth leader.
In her advertising career, her work has been honored in virtually every one of the industry’s most respected international award shows and publications, including the Clio Awards, One Show, Communication Arts Advertising Annual, the Andy Awards, Radio Mercury Awards, Archive Magazine, London International, Addy Awards and Effie Awards.
An Atlanta resident for the past two decades, Cathy lives in the Virginia-Highland neighborhood with her husband and three kids. She grew up in Austin, Texas and still loves a good two-step from time to time.
