Jo Ann Herold, Principal

Jo Ann Herold brings over 20 years marketing experience. She was formerly the VP of Marketing, CMO with HoneyBaked Ham. Prior to HoneyBaked she worked as a Regional Marketing Manager for Shoney’s and Captain D’s for five years. Before that, she was head of marketing for the Jackson, MS Zoo and has owned her own marketing firm where she worked with the Borgata Casino and Spa, Boyd Gaming, 3D Advertising, ePolicy.com, Solution Marketing and others. She started her career in marketing as a STAR for McDonalds.

Education

Jo Ann’s love for marketing began at Mississippi State University where she obtained her BA in Communication with a major in Public Relations and a minor in Journalism. She served in numerous leadership positions on campus; including heading Public Relations for the Student Government Association, Orientation Leader and being elected Homecoming Queen.

Teacher

While working full-time at HoneyBaked, she received an MBA in International Business from Mercer University in Atlanta. She is an Adjunct Professor at GA State University and Mercer University teaching Marketing 101, Marketing Promotions and Marketing to the Executive MBAs. She has also been an Adjunct Professor at Wesleyan University in Macon and has spoken to numerous college marketing classes, advertising and marketing associations.

Giving

Volunteering and community involvement are just one of Jo Ann’s passions. Jo Ann serves on the Board of Advisors for the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Anti Prejudice Consortium. She is co-leading the effort to Rebrand Buckhead. She is a member of the Atlanta and Pasadena, CA Jr. League, a graduate of Leadership Pasadena and the President of the Married’s group at Christ the King in Atlanta. She is a member of the Georgia State University Marketing Roundtable, is a mentor and on the board of advisors for the American Marketing Association and a member of Women’s Foodservice Forum. She is the 2009 director of publicity for the Druid Hills Tour of Homes. She also serves as an advisor to the Delta Gamma’s at University of Georgia.

Bravo

She has been awarded two AMY Awards, a Mercury Award for radio advertising, a Phoenix Award from Shirley Franklin, a Silver Effie for advertising effectiveness and was a finalist for the Catalog of the Year award by Catalog Age. Also winner of Chain Store Age’s Retail Store of the Year for HoneyBaked rebrand.

Just For Fun

Jo Ann, her husband, Mark, and their daughter, Lily enjoy living in their 1920’s bungalow in Atlanta, entertaining and laughing with their friends, cooking, design and simply having fun.
